TWICE can’t and won’t stop.
The group has been breaking sales and view count records left and right, and as of this morning, the group can add two more achievements to their increasingly long list.
TWICE has just become the fastest Kpop group in history to hit 100 million views on YouTube. This morning the music video for “Cheer Up” surpassed the 100M mark, breaking BIGBANG’s “Bang Bang Bang” record. BIGBANG previously held the record for fastest music video to 100 million views having surpassed 100M in 232 days, and TWICE just clocked in at 100M in 206 days. That’s nearly half a million views per day.
“Cheer Up” is now TWICE’s second music video to hit 100 million views, with “Like OOH-AHH” having hit 100 million exactly a week ago. TWICE is just one of four girl groups to be in the 100 million club, joining the ranks of Girls’ Generation, 2NE1, and f(x).
As if one record weren’t enough, TWICE broke a second this morning. In less than a month, TWICE has sold over 200,000 copies of their latest album, TWICEcoaster. This makes TWICE the indisputable highest selling girl group of 2016, and they did it in a little more than three weeks.
Based on their trajectory over the past month, it seems highly likely that TWICE will continue to break records over the next few weeks, so be sure to stick around moonROK for more updates on the group’s success.
