The male duo TVXQ! has broken another Oricon record in Japan.
TVXQ!’s new single, “Time Works Wonders,” has sold 107,000 records in the first week of sales since its release on the 5th, and has risen to #2 on Oricon’s weekly sinlge chart.
The combined sales of all of TVXQ!’s singles released in Japan throughout their career amounts to over 4,088,000. Surpassing the 4,010,000 sale record of the Hong Kong artist, Agnes Chan, TVXQ! has now achieved the top spot as the highest selling foreign artist for singles in Japan.
TVXQ! is no stranger to breaking records in Japan. Their single, “ANDROID,” released in July of 2012 sold 3.1 million copies and consequently broke the long-standing world record of foreign single sales previously held by the American duo, The Carpenters, for almost 11 years.
TVXQ! stated “We are very happy and thankful that our single has broken a new record. It is only because of our fans that we are even able to break this record. We want to sing every song with gratitudeand importance from now on.”
TVXQ! will be holding their special live tour “TVXQ! SPECIAL LIVE TOUR-T1STORY-” on December 6-7 at Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Arena.
