Taeyeon has once again proven her popularity not only domestically, but also abroad by snatching the top spot on iTunes charts all over Asia.
After much anticipation, Taeyeon released her second mini album “Why” at midnight on June 28. Within 8 hours of the release, the title track “Why” ranked #1 on Korea’s various digital music sites including Genie, Olleh Music, Naver Music, Bugs, Soribada, and Mnet.
Not stopping there, the album also managed to rise to #1 on iTunes charts in 10 different countries, including Indonesia, Taiwan, Macao, Vietnam, Malaysia, and more.
Showing a completely different style from her solo debut “I”, “Why” is a mix of R&B and EDM, with the tropical house sound that has recently become very popular.
Taeyeon will start her promotion for the 2nd mini album by appearing in Music Bank on July 1, followed by performances on Music Core and Inkigayo.
