WINNER member Taehyun will be taking an indefinite break from WINNER activities moving forward.
YG Entertainment has announced that due to the worsening condition of his mental health, it is necessary for Taehyun to take a break from promotions. In their statement made today, YG acknowledged that they have known about Taehyun’s mental condition since his training days, but that due to his visibly worsening condition, the agency has decided that it is best for Taehyun himself that he rest and focus on his health.
The representative from YG also revealed that for the past few months, Taehyun has been living at home instead of in the dorm with his fellow WINNER members. In their statement, the YG representative stated, “After realizing that it would be difficult for him to promote, we have decided that it is necessary to suspend Taehyun’s future activities indefinitely for the sake of his mental health,” before clarifying that Taehyun’s health is priority in this situation.
The representative from YG entertainment did not clarify a WINNER comeback date, and indeed confirmed that their schedule is currently up in the air considering the current situation. The rep did assure the press however that the group is working closely with YG to “get through their first crisis.”
moonROK will have all the updates on Taehyun’s mental health and future participation with WINNER as they are made available, so be sure to stick around for more updates.
