Sunny Addresses SM Entertainment Founder Lee Soo Man During Radio Broadcast

Many tend to forget that Girls’ Generation member Sunny is the niece of Lee Soo Man, the founder of SM Entertainment.

On the January 1 episode of her radio show, “Sunny’s FM Date,” Sunny mentioned Lee Soo Man on the broadcast.

Sunny did so in an amusing story saying, “Will it be okay for me to tell this story…? We just talked about YG’s Yang Hyun Suk, and after listening to the radio SM teacher Lee Soo Man asked me, ‘why don’t SM songs ever come out [on your show]?'”

Sunny then made listeners laugh by saying, “Uncle. Don’t you know I just played ‘Into the New World’?”

Sunny closed out the joke by addressing Lee Soo Man formally again, saying, “Lee Soo Man teacher, thank you for listening. My face is getting red.”

She then clarified what just happened to her listeners, saying, “That was all very confusing, but [the song] we just listened to was ‘Into the New World’ by Girl’s Generation.”

Sunny doesn’t often talk about her family ties with Lee Soo Man on the air, so it was amusing for listeners and fans to hear her address someone of such a high corporate position in SM Entertainment so casually.

Sunny’s show is broadcast every day from 8-10pm KST so be sure to tune in to hear more of Sunny’s jokes and song choices, and keep following moonROK for more updates on your favorite artists and idols.
