SM Entertainment will premiere the world’s first ever hologram musical next week.
Entitled “School OZ,” the musical will have its opening night on January 14 at the SMTOWN Theatre in Samsung-dong, Seoul.
“School OZ” stars various SM Entertainment artists: TVXQ!‘s Changmin will play the role of “Oscar,” the seemingly perfect man, and SHINee‘s Key will play “David,” the atmosphere maker of the show. Meanwhile f(x) member Luna will play the role of the pure witch “Diana,” and EXO leader Suho will play the role of young and naive “Hans.” Joining his EXO leader will be member Xiumin, playing the role of the loyal and strong “Aquila.” Lastly, Red Velvet member Seulgi will be playing the role of pure young woman, “Dorothy.” Girls’ Generation member Yoona and Super Junior leader Leeteuk will also be making special appearances in the play as well. SMTOWN Theatre is especially drawing attention due to its unprecedented level of techincal sophistication. The theater is Korea’s first multi-platform theater and is able to accomodate holographic contents, musicals, concerts and more. The theater also contains audience seating surrounding 270 degrees of the performance area with a 40 meter facade, high definition digital projection, and a state-of-the-art sound system, components that allow the audience to feel as if they are immersed in the performance.
The SMTOWN Theatre will be home to many performances in the near future, the first of which is the SM hologram musical “School OZ,” which opens on January 14.
