When the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) lineup was announced last month, a big to-do was made about the fact that no YG artists would be participating in the annual awards show.
The snub made headlines all over the world, and it looks like Mnet heard the fans loud and clear, because apparently all hope of a YG appearance is not lost.
Ilgan Sports has just reported that Mnet executive representatives approached YG Entertainment founder and CEO Yang Hyun Suk to meet in secret to discuss the label’s participation at MAMA, just two weeks before the awards show is scheduled to take place.
A representative from YG verified this news, saying “It is true that Mr. Yang and top officials from Mnet met. However, because the company’s artists are busy with schedules overseas and there is not a lot of time to prepare, it won’t be easy to make an appearance.”
There has been no confirmation as to whether any YG artists will definitely appear or not appear at MAMA 2015, but with only two weeks left until the show a decision is bound to be made soon, so stick around moonROK for more updates as the issue unfolds.
