Talented and hearts of gold? I.O.I can do no wrong.
It has just been belatedly revealed that instead of taking home their earnings from their debut showcase, I.O.I donated the money to the United Nations charity fund, UNICEF.
Today a representative from YMC Entertainment told the Korean press, “I.O.I donated the money that they earned from their May debut showcase to UNICEF in June.”
According the report, the group earned 3 million KRW (about $3,000 USD) from ticket sales at the showcase, and YMC Entertainment staff pooled another 7 million KRW (about $7,000 USD) to round out the UNICEF donation to 10 million KRW (about $10,000 USD).
Always good to know that our favorite Kpop idols are as warm-hearted and generous as they are talented.
