The news comes shortly after controversy surrounding Hyunseung’s “attitude problem,” a topic that has been brought up multiple times after Hyunseung missed fanmeets and showed little to no effort on stage.
On April 19, Cube Entertainment released the following press statement clarifying the B2ST member’s departure:
“Hello, this is Cube Entertainment.
We thank the fans who love B2ST, and have something to tell you all.
As of today, Jang Hyunseung has left B2ST, and the group will be reorganized to five members: Yoon Dujun, Lee Kikwang, Yang Yoseop, Yong Junhyung, and Son Dongwoon. Jang Hyunseung has decided that rather than being a B2ST member he would like to pursue a solo career.
Jang Hyunseung and the 5 members of B2ST have been talking to the company for some time about making changes to the team due to their differences in personality, namely their different tastes in music. After lengthy deliberation between all of the members, it was agreed that Jang Hyunseung would part ways with the group and [B2ST] would be reorganized.
For the past seven years, B2ST has been working very hard without rest for the fans and their common goal of being the best. Due to this, the decision was not an easy one for the members or the company or anyone involved.
The now five-member B2ST plans to prepare a new album in 2016 and be active both at home and overseas. Please continue to show support for B2ST and Jang Hyunseung, who will be doing their best in their respective positions.
Hyunseung’s departure from the group serves as another example of how hard it is to keep a group together for more than seven years, but it seems that his fans can still expect him to release music as a solo artist.
MoonROK will continue to keep you updated on Hyunseung’s solo career in addition to B2ST’s group activities, so be sure to stick around for more Kpop updates.
