Foreign Singer Accuses Taeyang of Plagiarizing ‘Eyes, Nose, Lips’

A singer outside of Korea has been accused of stealing Taeyang‘s melody to his hit 2014 single, “Eyes, Nose, Lips.”

Just now, it was reported that a man named Derrick Bullock has been selling his single, “Change Me,” on iTunes since August 12, 2014.

“Change Me” has a stunningly similar melody and chord progression to “Eyes, Nose, Lips,” which was released two months earlier, on June 3, 2014.

Taeyang fans have been commenting on the YouTube video and iTunes account asking Bullock if he used the melody from Taeyang’s song, and since, Bullock has disabled the comments section on his YouTube video.

However, Bullock is contesting that the song is in fact his, and that “Change Me,” that was stolen from him by Taeyang.

Bullock stated, “‘Change Me’ is a song I wrote four years ago, not a Korean band’s song. I wrote the song four years ago, it was stolen from me. Before you say I stole ‘Eyes, Nose, Lips,’ get your facts straight. I can prove through videos and documents that all of the rights to the song are mine.”

One YG Entertainment representative stated, “Right now all of the content is being checked at the company, and we are currently preparing counter measures in response.”

It remains to be seen whether or not YG Entertainment will take legal action against Derrick Bullock, so stay tuned to moonROK as this story continues to break.
