EXO and Yoo Jae Suk are dominating the Chinese music charts, and we can’t say we’re surprised.
The SM super group and comedian released “Dancing King” as a part of SM Entertainment’s “SM Station” release series this past weekend, and since yesterday that song has been sitting happy at #1 on China’s biggest music chart, Ali Music.
A big reason for the song’s success (aside from EXO’s obvious popularity in China), is that SM Entertainment released the single on a native Chinese digital platform, making it easier to access for Chinese fans.
This news comes shortly after multiple controversies this summer regarding Chinese-Korean political tensions and a potential all-stop to China’s importation of Kpop content.
Congratulations to EXO and MC Yoo Jae Suk on their success overseas despite recent tensions, and if you haven’t yet, check out the video for “Dancing King” below.
