BLACKPINK Becomes First Rookie Group to Reach No.1 on iTunes

Just two days into their debut, BLACKPINK is already proving worth of the “monster rookie” title.

According to YG Entertainment, the newly debuted girl group hit No.1 on iTunes album chart just two days after the release of their debut mini album “SQUARE ONE”, becoming the first Kpop rookie group to ever do so.

Prior to that, BLACKPINK also proved YG’s digital power by dominating various domestic digital music charts, topping Melon, Mnet, Olleh, Bugs, Genie, Soribada, etc., with their new song “Whistle” – a combination of smooth hip-hop sound against dreamy melodies.

The music videos of the songs are also getting enthusiastic responses from fans, with “BOOMBAYAH” and “Whistle” each viewed more than four millions times since their release on August 8.
