Big Bang members also celebated with thank-you messages and autographs on the official website.
The team members made public their unique messages. G-Dragon said, “8th year–we still have ways to go. Thank you always”; Taeyang, “8th year…I’m still full of energy”; TOP, “All of you who have been with Big Bang for 8 years, thank you. To the even happier tomorrow!”; Daesung, “BIGBANG’s 8th year! Big Bang, who debuted in 2006, became the iconic and representative group of K-pop. Their hit songs including “Lies,” “Last Farewell,” “Bad Boy,” and “Fantastic Baby” won them top places in music charts and awards. The music video for “Fantastic Baby” even broke 100 million views on YouTube for the first time for an all-male group in K-pop.
Big Bang is enjoying continued success with individual and group activities. They conducted a world tour, bringing in 800 thousand audience members, and a 6 dome tour in Japan–for the first time as a foreign group–that hosted 771,000 fans.
Big Bang stood as a group on stage for the “YG Family Concert” at Seoul’s Jamsil Stadium after a period of absence in Korea. That day, G-Dragon stated that they will “try to make another album to come out within this year,” giving notice for Big Bang’s comeback.
Big Bang is also scheduled to proceed with a 5-dome tour in Japan for the 2nd year in a row, an unprecedented move for a foreign artist/group.
