For the past few years, anticipation has been growing for YG Entertainment to debut a new girl group.
The last time a girl group debuted under YG was in 2009 (2NE1), which in K-pop years, is forever ago.
Since then, rumors have been swirling about the release of a new girl group from YG, and for the past few years the group has seemingly been on the edge of debut.
Today, YG founder and CEO Yang Hyun Suk put those rumors to rest, saying that there is no set timeline for the debut of a YG girl group.
In a statement today, Yang said, “It is true that trainee candidates for the girl group have been constantly practicing and recording. However, there is no definite decision on when they will debut.”
Looks like the YG fans anticipating a girl group will have to remain patient for the time being.
