Woollim Entertainment, the agency responsible for artists such as Infinite, Lovelyz, and Joo, has announced that they will be starting a rookie debut project titled “W-Project.”
Unlike most rookie debut projects, which focus on reality programs and survival shows to increase the rookies’ presence and name recognition in the media before debut, W-Project plans to show the new artists musical talents first. Woollim will be debuting both a boy group and a girl group within the year.
The first installment of this musical project will be a collaboration between the main vocal of the new boy group and the main vocal of the girl group. It’s expected to be released at the end of this month, and Woollim hopes it will kick off W-Project with a bang. It will be interesting to see how this new debut strategy plays to the fans, and whether or not it will influence and affect the debuts of other groups in the future.
More information and teasers are sure to come out soon for W-Project, so stay tuned to moonROK for more updates on Woollim and all your other favorite Kpop companies!
