Stage Name: Mino (미노) Birth Name: Song Min Ho (송민호) Birthday: March 30, 1993 Hometown: Yongin, South Korea Nationality: Korean Debut: August 12, 2014 Position: Rapper
Mino is the main rapper in the YG Entertainment group WINNER. Originally from the Yongin, Mino was active in Korea's underground rap scene long before his debut with WINNER. In 2011 Mino debuted as a rapper in the group BoM, but the group disbanded two years later. In 2013, he successfully auditioned for YG Entertainment and became a trainee there. The same year, he became a contestant on YG's survival audition reality program, WIN: Who Is Next, eventually winning and thus becoming a member of WINNER.
Following his 2014 debut with WINNER, Mino featured on Epik High's popular single "Born Hater" before going on to appear on the rap competition Show Me The Money 4. While on the show, Mino came under fire from the Korean Association of Obstetricians for his lyrics, "Mino's coming for your daughters, everyone spread your legs like an OBGYN". Mino posted an apology on WINNER's official Facebook page, but the association did not accept it, asking for a formal apology from both Mino and the program. The association later stated that both Mino and YG Entertainment did indeed send them official apology letters, which they accepted. Mino eventually placed second on the show, competing under Zico's team and releasing multiple collaborative singles through the show.
In September of 2016, Mino made his solo debut under YG and his debut as a unit with Bobby (MOBB) simultaneously. Mino released one solo track entitled "Body", and two collaborative tracks -- "Full House" and "Hit Me" -- with iKON member and YG label mate Bobby.
