From a young age Eunhyuk showed interest in performance, and started training himself. He formed a crew with his friends in elementary school called "SRD," which stood for "Song Rap and Dance". The crew included eventual TVXQ member Junsu. In 1999, Eunhyuk auditioned for SM Entertainment, but failed to pass. Determined to become a professional performer, he auditioned again the next year and passed. In 2002, Eunhyuk was put into a project R&B trio with Junsu and eventual bandmate Sungmin. The unit broke up when Junsu debuted with TVXQ, and Eunhyuk and Sungmin became trainees again. In 2005, Eunhyuk debuted as one of the original members of Super Junior. Since his debut, Eunhyuk has participated in multiple Super Junior subunits, including Super Junior-T, Super Junior-H, and Super Junior-M. Eunhyuk has also become a popular TV personality, regularly hosting and appearing on shows like M!Countdown, Star King, Dream Team, and Strong Heart. In November 2011, Eunhyuk made his musical debut in Fame, which ran through the beginning of 2012. In December of 2011, Eunhyuk along with Donghae formed a duo called Super Junior-D&E and released a single entitled "Oppa, Oppa", which soared to the top of the charts, most notably in Japan. The duo has since remained active in both Japan and Korea, and most recently released their first Korean album, The Beat Goes On, in 2015. In April 2007, Eunhyuk was one of the four Super Junior members involved in a severe car crash. Two managers, Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, Leeteuk, and Shindong were all injured when their van's front left tire blew on the highway, causing the van to skid and eventually flip over. Eunhyuk and Shindong's injuries were relatively minor, while Kyuhyun and Leeteuk had to be rushed to intensive care. In October of 2015, Eunhyuk began his mandatory military service. He is currently serving, and scheduled to be discharged in July of 2017.
