Known for producing dramas such as “Palace Hours” and “Boys Before Flowers,” production company Group Eight has announced that they will be co-producing the Chinese remake of the popular Korean drama “Full House.”
On October 17th, company representatives revealed, “We will be working together with Chinese company Asia Media Holdings to produce this remake.”
Based on the original comic book by the same name, “Full House” was made into a Korean drama in 2014 starring Rain and Song Hye-kyo. The series received a lot of love, reaching up to 40% viewer ratings. Thus, there is high anticipation and expectations for the Chinese remake.
Lee Minchul, the producing director of JTBC’s “Can’t Take It Anymore” and tvN’s “21st Century Family,” will be working on the Chinese remake and selected U-KISS’ Eli as the male lead of the show. On October 23rd, the drama will hold a press conference in Shanghai. The drama aims to begin filming in December and air next year.
