Just now, reports are circulating around the Internet claiming that some T-ARA members may be ending their contracts with MBK Entertainment earlier than expected.
One outlet claims in an exclusive report that members Hyomin, Eunjung, Jiyeon, and Qri signed their contract renewals in February, but that members Soyeon and Boram have yet to resign.
Meanwhile, another Korean media outlet claims that some of the members have decided not to renew with MBK Entertainment, but rather to walk their own paths individually following the release of their final album together in May.
Prior to today’s reports, MBK Entertainment has made multiple statements claiming that T-ARA would not be disbanding, but these media outlets are reporting to the contrary.
In response to this morning’s reports, a representative from MBK Entertainment initially told the media, “The situation is that currently the members are still in discussion about their contract renewals.”
However, after making this vague statement, MBK Entertainment has just made another confirming that Boram and Soyeon will indeed be leaving the group. A representative from MBK has just told the media, “T-ARA members Soyeon and Boram’s contracts end on May 15, but the remaining members Hyomin, Eunjung, Jiyeon, and Qri have renewed their contracts until the end of December.”
The representative continued, “They will continue with continue solo activities, dramas, and other personal events and overseas activities, but the album to be released in May will be T-ARA’s last as a full group.”
