Sooyoung is once again showing her philanthropic side.
The Girls’ Generation member has just announced that she will be hosting a charity bazaar and benefit concert this Friday, the 13th at the SM Coex Artium.
From 3-5pm on the 13th, a charity bazaar will take place where Sooyoung will not only be selling “Beaming Effect” sweaters that she designed herself, but also auctioning off her personal items including bags, shoes, and more.
The proceeds from the event will go towards the leading organization of the anti-blindness campaign. As many fans know, Sooyoung’s father suffers from a rare retinal disease called Retinitis pigmentosa that causes gradual blindness over time, and funding research on curing blindness has thus been a cause close to the Girls’ Generation member’s heart.
Following the charity auction, at 8pm the same day Sooyoung will also be hosting a charity concert at the COEX Artium theater featuring performances by singer Yoon Hyung Joo, jazz vocalist Lee Dong Woo, rock singer Yoon Do Hyun, Eric Nam, fellow Girls’ Generation member Tiffany, musical actors Kim Jae Bum and Choi Soojin (Sooyoung’s sister), and SuperStar K Season 4 participant Lee Areum.
All of the artists participating in the concert are doing so for free in order to draw attention and donations to the anti-blindness cause.
Shoutout to Sooyoung for supporting such a great cause since 2014! If you’re in the Seoul area, be sure to hit up COEX on the 13th to get your own Beaming Effect sweatshirt for a charitable cause.
