At the beginning of the year, SM Entertainment held a forum in which label founder Lee Soo Man announced the forthcoming debut of a new boy group, NCT.
The group’s name is short for Neo Culture Technology, and SM’s strategy with this boy group is that there will be no set number of members. Various units and teams will be formed with the intention of performing songs in various languages and locations all over the world to achieve what Lee Soo Man calls “perfect localization.”
SM has just revealed that the first NCT two units will be called NCT U, and that they will both release separate singles on April 9th and 10th.
So far, Jaehyun and Mark have been announced as the members of NCT U, making them the first of potentially many members of the full group.
