On October 22nd, rock artist Shin Hae Chul went into cardiac arrest and was taken to a hospital, where he received complex heart surgery. However after his 3 hour surgery, he remained in a comatose state for 6 days and ultimately, passed away on October 27th at the age of 46.
His agency stated they are unsure what caused the cardiac arrest, as he did not have any apparent health concerns before the heart attack. Not only fans, but fellow artists such as Seo Taiji and PSY were also shocked by the sudden news.
The legendary rock artist Shin Hae Chul made his debut in 1988 on MBC’s “College Music Festival.” He was well known as a solo artist and as a member of band N.E.X.T. Often referred to as “King of Darkness” by fans, Shin Hae Chul created many hit songs such as “To You,” “Don’t Cry,” “Jazz Cafe,” and “A Doll’s Knight.”
