DSP Media has announced that Rainbow will officially be disbanding next month.
The group’s contracts with DSP are set to expire in November, and today, about two weeks ahead of the contract’s end, a representative from DSP confirmed that the group won’t be re-upping with the company.
A representative from DSP Media told reporters today, “Rainbow’s Kim Jaekyung, Go Woori, Kim Jisook, Noeul, Oh Seungah, Jung Yoonhye, and Cho Hyunyoung, our artists who have been together with DSP Media for so long, have had extensive conversations about their future activities, and unfortunately have decided to each walk their own paths from now on.”
The representative goes on to state, “As DSP Media artists, Rainbow has shared their pain and pleasures with us for the past seven years, and on November 12, 2016, their exclusive contracts with DSP Media will be completed. We hope that no matter where Rainbow goes, that like the seven colors of the rainbow they will always shine brightly and and be remembered positively, and we send the ladies on to their new activities and future with all of our undying support and encouragement.”
Lastly, the DSP Media rep went on to offer thanks to Rainbow’s fans, saying, “To the fans who unwaveringly supported and loved the unchanging Rainbow over the past seven years, we sincerely offer our thanks, and we ask that you support the members on their new journeys.”
