New YG Boy Group iKon to Debut in January

YG Entertainment’s new boy group iKon have been confirmed for a January 2015 debut.

Korea’s current top music company YG Entertainment’s Yang Hyunseok announced that after the reality program “Mix & Match” ended, there would be a short break before iKon’s January debut.

He continued, “Because Winner came out with a full album after the end of the reality program, “Win,” it took ten months to fully prepare. Because we plan to have them promote many singles, like 2NE1 did at first, it will take less time to prepare than a full album.

“Another reason for the speedy debut is that confirmed iKon members, B.I, has already put in a lot of effort and should debut shortly after the end of ‘Mix & Match.’ You can expect to see back to back promotions within Korea for the first year.”

The Mnet survival reality show “Mix & Match” will end in November, and the group will immediately begin preparing to meet their fans officially in January.

Although the debut hasn’t officially happened, the fan club has already amassed seven thousand proud, female fans who are helping to hype up the imminent debut.

Team B members from the show “Win” B.I, Bobby, and Kim Jinhwan have already  been confirmed as members for iKon. The weekly show “Mix & Match” aims to fill the remaining four spots in iKon from the selected group of trainees.

The remaining members will be chosen from Song Yunhyeong, Kim Donghyuk, Goo Junhoe, Jung Jinhyeong, Jung Chanwoo, and Yang Hong Seok in the ‘final match’ on the 22nd .
