Popular indie band Hyukoh has announced that in addition to their overseas schedules, they plan on releasing a new album sometime this year.
A Hyukoh representative said, “We plan to release an album within the year. It is definitely important to Hyukoh to release the album and continue to have schedules both in Korea and overseas. They have plans to meet fans through both broadcasting appearances and live performances.”
Just last week, Hyukoh participated in the “2016 Summer Sonic Festival” in Osaka and Tokyo alongside other globally reknowned bands such as Radiohead, Mark Ronson, The Offspring, and more. They even held a solo performance for the “Summer Sonic Extra 2016” Earlier this year, Hyukoh performed in Shanghai in April and Beijing in May for the Strawberry Festival.
Hyukoh also plans to go to Hong Kong in November for the “Clockenflap Music and Arts Festival.” Despite the bbusy festival schedule, they are still dedicating time to preparing for their new album.
Hyukoh debuted in 2014 with the EP album “20,” and was widely received by the indie community for their punk and new wave sound. Lead singer Oh Hyuk worked on a song with producer Primary titled “Lucky You,” which reached number one on the music charts. Hyukoh rose to stardom in 2015 after appearing in the program “Infinity Challenge.”
