Summer is coming to a close in Korea, but Kpop’s girl group’s are keeping it as hot as ever.
The ladies of Kpop dominated the charts this summer, occupying the top four digital single spots on the August edition of the Genie monthly chart.
YG’s new girl group BLACKPINK (who has received a great deal of praise for their strong debut) came out on top for the month with their slick hip-hop single “Whistle.” Meanwhile, the group’s other single “BOOMBAYAH” clocked in at 10th place.
Sitting at the #2 spot for the month is GFRIEND‘s “Navillera,” followed by Wonder Girls‘ summer smash “Why So Lonely” at third.
TWICE rounded out the ladies’ presence in the top 5, coming in at #4 with “Cheer Up.”
Shoutout to all the strong, talented women of Kpop holding it down for the ladies and representing girl power on the charts this summer.
More monthly chart announcements are sure to be made in the next few hours as August leaves us and September arrives, so be sure to stick around moonROK for more updates on your favorite Kpop artists and idols.
